turning

Another picture taken around midnight, it has a very blue colour. Although it isn’t the time (by the clock) that is relevant, it’s the fact that the sun is only just below the horizon that gives the colour. And this time of year that happens to be around midnight.

This particular picture shows a white-tailed eagle turning sharply, before landing to feed its chicks. Well, I suppose it’s landing to feed chicks, there was a lot of this kind of traffic over the same spot.

The blue colour comes from the late hour, about midnight.

Touchdown!

I know the focus is not spot on, but from the time I saw this swan come in for a landing, I had approximately three seconds to react, find it with my lens and get some sort of focus. Given the short time, I want to claim it’s not bad….

On the way to work…

On the way to work today, I stopped on the way to take some photographs. This was something I had planned in advance. I hadn’t planned having this cute owl sit perfectly still for almost half an hour while I took lots of pictures of him (or is it a her?).

I’m not sure what it is, but I do think it looks like a Boreal owl doesn’t it?
