The temperature when I took this picture was only just above freezing, but the water looked colder!

Trees with freshly fallen snow.

Trees with freshly fallen snow.

These are essentially the same trees as in one of my previous posts: Green.

The first snow for this winter, it didn’t stay long, unfortunately. However, I am confident we will soon have snow permanently on the ground.

The birches

When out on my last boating trip before winter strikes, I managed to take this photograph. The temperature was not far from freezing, so I am very glad I haf my camera on a tripod…. All right, the outdoor temperature might have been +7C, but it’s a bit too cold for me to hold a camera without gloves.

This picture is deffinitely not within walking distance from home: it’s taken from a small island in the Umeå river delta. In summer it might be possible to swin to the island, but it’s nothing I recommend!

Sunset mirror

A sunset over a road in Västerbotten

A sunset over a road in Västerbotten

While you might think so, this is actually not a picture I have put together from two photographs. I was driving home this evening, and had the most glorious sunset in my side mirrors, so I stopped (obviously, I am not an idiot…) by the side of the road and took a photograph. Since I wanted to get home, I just took a picture using the car mirror to show me the sunset, instead of getting out and setting my camera up on a tripod, as I would have done normally.
